Yes, I’m crazy about fashion but I’m really not crazy about bags: There are only four bags that I actually use. One is a tote bag, another one is fully leather and made by my sister, then there is a colorful sailor bag from minimarket and finally my bag Nina by ATEM.
I’m not quite sure why I’m so into my ATEM bag but probably it is because it perfectly fits my needs. The size is just perfect. It has enough space for everything I like to carry around with me. And the adjustable straps give me the opportunity to use the bag as a backpack while cycling. It is so functional and at the same time so well designed and due to the strong and robust fabric I even don’t need to be notably careful with my bag. Me and my bag we stick together through thick and thin. And that’s what counts.
Nelson Abulencia is the designer around whom the Hamburg based lable ATEM was formed in 2011. Some time ago I already wrote something about Nelson and we also published some of his wonderful illustrations.
Back in 2010 when I made an interview with him, it had already been his dream to start his own business. And now two years later he has already launched his first collection of bags and we see that somethimes dreams come true so quickly.
