Here’s an exceptional knitwear collection by a recent graduate of the Basel Institute of Fashion Design, Irina Heemann. Her Spring/Summer 2012 collection explores a combination of traditional handiwork, knitwear and a forgotten piece of clothing, the apron.
Developing a completely new understanding of the structure of knitwear, the collection serves as women’s clothing without creating a romantic, dainty look. The collection is distinguished by a rectangular silhouette. It thrives through hairy, soft mohair wool, gleaming silk, firm leather and cold spring steel wire.

Wow. I love the juxtaposition of wild, intricate knitting with the soft, fuzzy look of the material.
I love it!!
