Is not a well-known fashion photographer – yet. But if he keeps working as hard as he does, we think he may well be discovered by agencies and magazines, and turn that hobby into a true profession.
Is one of our favorite bloggers, because she keeps coming up with great ideas for her blog Vintage Jesus Fashion.
When did you start to photograph?
I started when I bought my first camera, about 4 years ago. But Michael Oats really exists since I bought my SLR camera, 2 years ago.
Where do you find inspiration?
Mainly on the Internet and of course in fashion magazines. For a long time in my life, I had many ideas in my mind that I couldn’t express, and now that I can, all of them are going out mixed with the new ones.
What are you doing at the moment?
At the moment, I’m finishing my degree in Media Studies, and I prepare some exhibitions. Also, I am taking pictures as always.
Who are your favorite designers?
I think I don’t have favorite designers, but favorite clothes or collections. But if I had to choose, I think I would say Alexander Wang, Karl Lagerfeld for Chanel, Nicolas Ghesquière for Balenciaga, Christophe Decarnin for Balmain, Marc Jacobs for Louis Vuitton, Riccardo Tiscifor Givenchy, and I think I’m starting to become fan of Maison Martin Margiela.
Do you read blogs?
I think that when I’m using my computer, 70% of the time I’m reading blogs. For two reasons: they are a big source for inspiration and they have the latest news.
Your favorite Models?
It depends. I like the kind of models like Natasha Poly, Jessica Stam, Sasha Pivovarova, Lara Stone or Eniko Mihalik. And of course the classic ones: Claudia and Naomi.
You can’t live without…?
Chocolate and sweets.
Do you have any big dreams?
I have just one big dream: to become a real fashion photographer for one of my favorite magazines.
Michael Oats in 5 years?
In 5 years I hope I’ll be working, at least, as a freelance fashion photographer, somewhere in the world.
